On February 12th and 13th, Keio EDGE team visited Indonesia and conducted a 2-day Innovative Thinking Demo Workshop at Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) in Bandung. This is part of our second round of efforts to recruit students in Asian countries to invite to our 3-month Keio EDGE program.

At ITB, over 50 students and faculty members joined the workshop. Most of them were from MBA course in ITB School of Business and Management and some had design and engineering background. We selected 6 candidates and interviewed them just after the workshop. One of them will be invited to the KEIO EDGE 2016 course held in Japan from this coming Sept. The finalist will be determined in a few weeks.

In ITB School of Business and Management, “Design Thinking” course was introduced in 2014 and the participants were quite familiar with this methodology. What was new to them seemed to be the “Systems Thinking” part we employ to integrate with ‘Design Thinking’ to generate ‘Innovative’ ideas. Many of the participants showed much interest and worked very hard during the 2-day session.

Thanks to ITB, lunch and snack in the morning and afternoon were delivered each day. All the participants and KEIO team really enjoyed Indonesian food.

Throughout our stay, Dr. Akbar Adhiutama and Ms. Agnes Grace Florence supported our activity. Mr. Erlangga Mahardhika, a selected and invited Keio EDGE 2015 participant from Indonesia, joined as TA (Teaching Assistant) and not only presented his experience in KEIO EDGE 2015 but also introduced his current activities as an entrepreneur in his startup business, too. Thank you so much.

As the next place and the final of our Asian Tour 2016, we will visit the Chulalongkorn University in Thailand for 5-6th March 2016.
